David LivingStone - An Inspiration

Just finished lunch and had a nice lunch break reading about David Livingstone.

He is really an inspiration. You should check out this book.
To hear about his passion to reach to the people for Jesus,
The excitement and unabated spirit to reach out to people who have not heard about Jesus.

Really excites me...

Now i'm at Chapter 11,
Where he ask Mary, the girl he loves,
To marry him,

Looking forward to read that after work =)

Meanwhile back to work =)
I thank God i have finally got out of the holiday mood and back to full force on my work =)

Pressing on to the Goal

Acts 20:24
However i consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

The more i pray and trust God about the calling,
The more my heart begin to be at peace,

There may be storms,
Reluctancy to let go just like a small boy holding a melted ice cream and crying,
When the father ask him to surrender his ice cream in order for him to get a better ice cream,

Knowing one thing for sure at hand,
That the Lord Jesus has every good thing planned for us in His mind,

Our joy will be complete when we learn to walk and obey His commands. =)

River of Peace

Nevertheless i feel peace in my heart just as a friend told me,
"River of peace flowing from God"

Water that restores and heals,
River where it continues to flow where God leads.

A sacrifice for a greater cost

[For the sake of the Call by Steven Curtis Chapman]

Nobody stood and applauded them
So they knew from the start
This road would not lead to fame
All they really knew for sure was Jesus had called to them
He said "Come follow me" and they came
With reckless abandon they came
Empty nets lying there at the waters edge
Told a story that few could believe and none could explain
How some crazy fishermen agreed to go where Jesus lead
With no thought for what they would gain
For Jesus had called them by name and they answered

CHORUS
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die
For the sake of the call

Drawn like the rivers are drawn to the sea
No turning back for the water cannot help but flow
Once we hear the Savior's call we'll follow wherever he leads
Because of the love He has shown
And because he has called us to go we will answer
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die

BRIDGE
Not for the sake of a creed or a cause
Not for a dream or a promiseSimply because it is Jesus who calls
And if we believe we'll obey
CHORUS

[Battle of Wits]

"Looking at things at the bigger picture"
* How does all these tie together?
Coming out to full time isn't a child's play,
Many things to consider,
Many things we have to let go,
And many things we have to be sure of,
For the sake of the call.
This reminded me of the show "Battle of the Wits"
Of how Andy Lau the hero had to sacrifice the glory of taking over a city,
Putting on hold the person he loves most,
For the lives of the whole city.
I was telling Michelle after the movie,
How so many great people in the world sacrificed their love,
Or put on hold the person they love,
For a greater call.
If they didn't, many could have suffered,
There are many things we have to learn to let go or take a step back,
To see how a small piece plays an important role in the big picture.
As Alex mentioned...
"See things in a bigger picture"
I was driving to work and listening to the song "For the sake of the call"
The song was so meaningful to me today and i would like to share with you the lyrics which is above...
As pastor mentioned...
"We have to be sure of the calling"
As Eng Kok mentioned....
"Tough on the outside, but the treasures are in the inside"
As the Word of God says...
"plans to give us a hope and a future"
My thots:
"God, i'm trusting in You...."
*Soaring my wings, Ready to rise*
"Help me to see the bigger picture"

First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for all the students.
Parents would be so relieved to know that their children are back into doing something profitable other than Cybercafe and "lepak-ing" the whole month =)

I had a conversation with Cheryl yesterday that how nice it would be to be back in school.
This is a picture of my primary and secondary school.

It was one of the best times of my life...
No worries,
No stress,
Just play and eat,
Jumping over drains,
Looking at girls in Assunta at the bus-stop,
Looking forward to trainee teachers who hopefully look pretty,
Sad to say, this is what we got in boys school,
But boys school, being boys,
We have all the crazy and fun things we do in school as well,

Running out of class together to play basket ball,
There was once teacher caught us all and got the whole class to stand outside the class for one period,
I can still remember it till today =P

Miss the good ole times,
What was yours? =)

Joy List

Today i had my monday blues as usual...
Going to work,
Telling myself that "Ok... I need to look forward to go to work"

Reached to work,
Opened my email box,
Looking at the work that awaits me....

But STOPPED before i dive in,
DECIDED to open my Bible first and pray,
Wrote a JOY list,
Writing somethings i would like to thank God for....

It took some time for me to write something but after writing it,
The spirit in me started to change,
I started becoming joyful,

It makes a difference,
Try it and tell me how it turned alright? =)
